This is the new cancer that is ravaging the community of Christians, just like it affects people who are not Christian. We pretend to be holy, but deep down, we are stuck and struck with sexual immoralities, and unfortunately, it is on the increase. It is imperative to pay close attention to behaviors among choristers, church leaders, and members.
Just as Jacob cursed his first son, Reuben, faltered, we must be vigilant against temptation, as exemplified in Joseph’s story with Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39). While it’s not inherently sinful for religious leaders and Christians at large to have female secretaries, it’s crucial to recognize the potential vulnerabilities.
Lots of Christian homes and marriages want to spice up their relationships, and in the process, they become porn addicts. Porn sites were ranked either 4th or 5th most visited sites in most of the countries. Our aim isn’t condemnation but support for individuals, families and the body of Christ to overcome these challenges, aligning our lives with Ephesian 5:3-7 (NKJV) that says but fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this, you know that no fornicator, unclean person, or covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things, the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore, do not be partakers with them.
The day you accepted Christ as your personal savior, you became a new being, and you are expected to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, that’s expression of salvation in spiritual growth and development (Phil 2:12). You must daily and constantly work on those habits that the Bible speaks against. Colossians 3:5 says, put to death, therefore, whatever to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impunity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry.
